Protecting Your Brand: Be Intentional About What You Promote

As you build your personal brand, every association matters. The products you endorse, the partnerships you take on, and the messages you amplify all contribute to how people perceive you.

Before promoting anything, ask yourself: Does this strengthen my brand or weaken it?

Even if a product is great, it doesn’t always mean it aligns with your brand. 

I’ve had to turn down opportunities. Not because they weren’t valuable, but because they didn’t fit the reputation I was building.

When endorsing something, I always:

  • Review the sales material.

  • Examine the content itself.

  • Research the person or company behind it.

Why? Because trust is everything. 

If I promote something, it means I stand behind it. And if there’s even one red flag, it’s not worth the risk.

Your personal brand is built over time but it only takes one misstep to damage credibility. 

Be intentional with what you attach your name to.
