How to double owned-channel revenue with four structural account changes.

Scale profitably by fixing campaign structure, KPIs, and margin mix.

Nord Media helps DTC brands between $1M – $100M+ by driving profitable growth utilizing Meta, Google and creative strategy. We implement systems and strategies that aim to drive growth for you brand without sacrificing your profit.

Our client Moonglow is a decade-old jewelry brand with loyal customers, real DTC traction, and a product people genuinely love.

Founder Julien Plouffe put the problem plainly: "Scaling profitably was the main issue. We could increase spend, but efficiency would drop off. Creative fatigue was also real, and competition in the space is intense."

We overhauled the account across four areas:

> Campaign organization.

> KPI measurement.

> Creative allocation.

> Product-level margin clarity.

Revenue more than doubled. MER is tracking at 3.33 against a 3.30 goal. AOV increased.

The leading creative concept is still running with no signs of fatigue. Same brand, same product, same market. Different system.

Julien's problem is one most scaling accounts run into: spend goes up, efficiency goes down, and nothing in the dashboard explains why.

Here's exactly what to do to your own account this week.

Move 1: Separate Testing from Scaling

Open your account. If your testing creatives and your scaling creatives live inside the same campaign, you don't have a testing structure.

> New creatives compete against proven winners for delivery, lose the auction, and get cut before they ever had a chance to prove themselves.

> The performance data becomes unreadable because you're mixing two different jobs inside one budget.

Separated into distinct environments, the data becomes legible. One of the first things we did at Moonglow was to reorganize ad sets by creative concept, introduce CBO structure, and split testing from scaling into distinct environments.

This week:

> Open Ads Manager and find where your testing creatives and scaling creatives currently live.

> If they share a campaign or a CBO, separating them is the first priority.

Move 2: Shift Your KPI from ROAS to MER

ROAS shows you what Meta reported. MER shows you what actually hits your bottom line. Every platform you're running - Meta, Google, whatever else - counts the same conversions toward its own number.

Add them up, and the total attributed revenue is higher than your actual revenue. MER divides total revenue by total spend across every platform, so there's nothing to inflate.

At Moonglow, moving to MER as the north star gave the account a stable foundation to scale from without losing margin visibility, and it's how we knew the rebuild was working.

This week:

> Pull your last 30 days of total revenue and divide by total ad spend across every platform. That's your MER.

> Compare it to your Meta-reported ROAS.

If Meta's number is materially higher than your MER, you've been making spend decisions on attributed revenue that doesn't exist.

Move 3: Point Creative at Your Highest-Margin Products

Scaling profitably requires contribution margin per order, not just volume.

Bestseller creative drives conversions but hits a margin ceiling. Shifting spend toward higher-AOV products is what keeps the economics intact as budget goes up.

At Moonglow, shifting creative toward premium offerings changed the trajectory of the account.

Their three-moon necklace became a standout winner and proved that pairing the right creative angle with a higher-value product moved AOV meaningfully across the account.

Check whether your spend mix actually matches your margin mix, not just which products convert fastest.

This week:

> Pull your product mix by contribution margin, not revenue.

> Audit your active creative.

> What share of spend is pointed at your highest-margin SKUs versus your volume drivers?

If most spend is going to volume drivers, build one creative concept aimed at your highest-margin product and run it inside your testing CBO.

Move 4: Know Your Unit Economics Before Scaling Another Dollar

COGS, shipping, and processing fees shift regularly. If your break-even ROAS hasn't been updated to reflect current landed costs, you're scaling against an inaccurate number.

Run the math at the SKU level, not the account level, to see where the money goes.

At Moonglow, getting clarity on margins and unit economics at the product level is what lets us focus creative strategy on the items that made scaling profitable instead of just bigger.

Focus on unit economics first, then align the creative strategy to it.

This week:

> Pull current per-unit contribution margin for your top SKUs.

> Calculate break-even ROAS at the product level, not the account level.

> Check whether your highest-margin products are getting proportional ad spend.

> Update break-even ROAS against current landed costs, not last quarter's.

Action Summary

Here are the key steps to implement this week:

> Audit campaign structure. Are testing and scaling actually separated, or sharing budget and delivery?

> Pull 30-day MER and compare to Meta-reported ROAS.

> Pull contribution margin by SKU. Does your spend mix match your margin mix?

> Recalculate break-even ROAS against current landed costs.

Final Thoughts

Moonglow's growth didn't come from better creative, smarter audiences, or a new tactic.

It was a result of changing how the account was organized, what it was optimizing toward, and where the creative was pointed.

The founder said it directly: "We moved from inconsistent growth to something more structured and repeatable. Execution is tighter, creative is stronger, and decisions are based on a system instead of guesswork."

If you're hitting the same wall every month, spend up and efficiency down, look beyond the creative.

You now have the four moves to accurately audit and improve through campaign organization, KPI accuracy, and product-level margins.
