The BFCM checklist to save you from the Q4 chaos
Run it before it’s too late: audits, automation checks, segments, deliverability, and more.
I'm taking on 2 more brands that are spending $50k/month on Meta + Google. Ideally you're looking to scale into Q4 / Black Friday and are wanting a long-term partner to grow with. My team and I will work with you to develop a strong Q4 strategy & plan to ensure you're scaling profitably.
If this sounds like you let’s chat
If you're getting ready for BFCM, there are about fifty things you could be doing right now.
But I think most of that comes after two decisions that are much easier to make in September, while nothing is on fire.
1. What stack are you going to run?
2. How are you going to audit it before the traffic hits?
Make two decisions now and remove half the chaos later.
Decision 1: Make The Stack Decision Before October
Every Q4, brands act like BFCM prep starts when BFCM starts.
But by then, you're already too late.
- September still gives you options
- October starts removing them
- November gives you consequences
If you're considering a switch, this is the window to do it.
Your brain will think migration feels unglamorous, but it doesn't need to become a project your team spends weeks managing.
Omnisend migrates all paid accounts for free in 5 days, including the work of moving your existing setup over.
You get the same core power as Klaviyo with a bill that can be up to 35% smaller.
You also get real human support with a 4-minute average response time, account experts from $400/mo, and 250+ integrations.
You’re buying yourself options while switching is still relatively low-stakes.
Decision 2: How You're Going To Audit The Machine
This is the part of BFCM prep that tends to disappear from the checklist.
Everyone remembers the campaigns.
Far fewer teams budget time for the work underneath them:
- Is the automation logic actually working?
- Are the right segments being targeted?
- Where are we leaking revenue?
- What happened last year that we should repeat?
The audit doesn't have to start with opening five dashboards and pulling five reports.
Omnisend's MCP connection is available through Claude's Connector Directory and ChatGPT, with granular permissions for what the AI can access and do.
So instead of navigating around the account looking for problems, you can start with a conversation.
That shortens the distance between “I should check this” and “I know what needs fixing.”
One Useful Detail To Know Before BFCM
The audit tells you what to fix.
Before you build the promo emails, know that the countdown timer lives inside Omnisend's Email Builder itself.
You can drag into a campaign or automation email, set the deadline, and use it to show the urgency without a third-party tool.
When the offer ends, the timer becomes an image you choose, so you can point it toward your next offer.
It's available on the Standard and Pro plans.
Here's The Build I'd Actually Run
The best part of this isn't the AI writing the welcome email.
It's the workflow around it.
Before giving a copilot any real work, I'd first figure out exactly what it can access.
Step 1: Start with permissions, not a prompt
Run the permissions prompt and decide how much authority it has.
“Inspect what Omnisend data and actions you currently have access to, then distinguish between what you can read, create, edit, and send.”
Once you know what the connection can access, you can start turning the audit into actual work.
Step 2: Give it the brief
Take something as basic as a welcome automation.
Here's the prompt I'd run:
“Create a new welcome automation in my Omnisend account with this structure:
1. Entry trigger: when a contact subscribes to my marketing list
2. Send a welcome email immediately
3. Wait 2 days
4. Send a second email
5. Wait 3 days
6. Send a third email
For each email, write the subject line, preview text, and body copy. Make the primary CTA appropriate to the goal of converting a new subscriber into a first-time customer.
Create a draft for me to review. Do not activate or send the automation.”
You're not asking AI to write an email for you to copy and paste somewhere else.
The email is created as a ready-to-edit template in the account that you can inspect and edit, rather than just returning copy in the chat.
Step 3: Add SMS
Extend the same automation with SMS.
“Add an SMS message after the first welcome email and another SMS after the second email.
Make sure the SMS messages add something useful rather than repeating the email copy.”
You've gone from a blank automation to an email + SMS flow without manually stitching the pieces together.
Step 4: Edit the subject line
Make the final pass on the subject line from the chat.
“Analyze my previous campaign performance and identify the subject-line patterns that have historically performed best for my audience.
Rewrite the subject lines for the three welcome emails using those patterns. Give me 3 options for each subject line and recommend the strongest option based on my historical data.”
The work itself hasn't disappeared.
You still need to know what a good welcome flow should look like.
But the interface has changed.
Instead of moving between your brief, your ESP, your reports and your notes, more of that work can happen through the conversation.
Who Is This For
This is most relevant if you're running a mid-size ecommerce brand where email and SMS already matter to the P&L.
You're past the point where “send a few campaigns” is your retention strategy.
You've got automations, segments, reporting, multiple channels and a Q4 calendar that is about to get very busy.
You’re at the stage where you’re reducing the amount of operational friction between knowing what needs to happen and actually getting it done.
Final Thoughts
BFCM readiness is a sequencing problem.
The brands that feel calm in November made the important decisions while November still felt far away.
- Your stack.
- Then your copilot.
Omnisend gives you both pieces in one place:
Up to 35% less. Migration in 5 days. A copilot that audits your BFCM readiness in one prompt.
At Nord Media, we focus on profitable growth at scale, we help forecast revenue, and contribution margin goals, then build the marketing plans to execute those goals.
This means full clarity on testing, scaling and improving profitability at every aspect of your funnel.
