Teams will rewrite a campaign subject line five times to squeeze out a 30% open rate.

Meanwhile, the shipping confirmation gets opened at roughly double that rate, often more than once, and all it says is

“Thanks for your order! Here’s your tracking number:”

Across the accounts I work on, my read is that receipts get more attention than your campaigns, but they don’t use that attention well enough yet.

Put two or three products that go with what they just bought right under the order details, and that receipt starts selling.

Each Black Friday order sends two receipts, so build the new templates now to use their full potential.

The first month a brand takes TikTok Shop seriously, they find out creator outreach is a full-time job nobody on the team has time for.

I see it across the accounts I manage. The revenue shows up, and so does the manual work behind it.

A VA running copy-paste DMs

Sample requests tracked nowhere

A spreadsheet that's stale by Tuesday

Reacher is the layer that removes that.

You describe the kind of creator you want in plain language, the AI finds them. Then it runs every DMs, collab invites, email, sample requests at volume. Every creator's status, samples, and GMV live in one place instead of across three tabs and a Slack thread.

If TikTok Shop is becoming a real line in your P&L, it's worth seeing the workflow run against your own program.

The Receipt Beats Your Campaigns

All of these numbers come from one dataset, Omnisend’s 2026 benchmark report on 2025 sends.

Shipping confirmations hit a 62.67% open rate, the highest of any email type in the dataset, and earned $3.08 per email.

Order confirmations opened at 57.91% and earned $2.88 per email.

The same report puts the average campaign open rate at 30.41%.

Receipts are one type of automated email.

Here’s what automated emails earn next to the campaigns you send to your list:

Automated emails: $3.41 per email sent

Campaigns: $0.155 per email sent

Difference: 22x more revenue per send

Some operators worry that adding products to a receipt will annoy people.

The unsubscribe data says no.

Shipping confirmations sit at 0.30% and order confirmations at 0.36%.

People want these emails, so they keep opening them.

Pull open rate and revenue per email for your two confirmation templates and put them next to your last five campaigns. That comparison usually ends the debate.

The Buyer Already Said Yes

Think about who’s opening that receipt. They just paid you, so their trust in you is at its highest.

They’re also checking their inbox for your email, which few brand emails ever get that kind of attention.

And they keep coming back to it. A customer waiting on a package opens the shipping email to track it, then opens it again a day later to see how close it is.

Each of those opens is a chance to put more products in front of a customer who feels good about buying from you.

You already paid to win this customer, so this attention costs you nothing extra.

Now look at what your platform’s standard receipt shows them: an order number, a logo and a list of what they bought. That’s the whole email, so there’s plenty of room to add more.

To see where yours stands, open your order confirmation on your phone right now and count how many things in it give the customer a reason to come back.

Dress the Receipt Carefully

The email still has one job: confirm the order.

Selling only earns a space once that job is done.

Here’s the layout I’d use, top to bottom:

• Order details stay at the top, untouched.

Order number, items, total, delivery estimate, exactly as they are now. That’s what the customer opened the email to check, so it comes first.

• One human line under the summary.

Write something that sounds like the founder wrote it, such as  “We packed this one this morning. Reply here if anything looks off.”

It doesn’t need to be clever. Keep it short and plain, the way you’d write to a friend who just bought from you.

• One cross-sell block.

Make it a short, curated pick so it reads like a recommendation. Show 2 to 3 products that genuinely pair with what they bought, like the refill for the device or the case for the phone.

Keep it far away from a catalog dump because that would feel like an ad.

• For the shipping email: the tracking link, plus one reason to come back.

Add a single ask: a referral offer, a restock-alert signup, or a gift card line once December starts.

The rule that keeps this working: the information they opened the email for always sits above anything you’re selling.

Flip that order and you train customers to stop opening, which is how you lose the 62.67%.

Pick your cross-sell pairs for your top SKUs today, so the block is ready to drop in.

Peak Orders Mean Peak Receipts

Each Black Friday order triggers both confirmation emails.

So your biggest order week of the year is also your biggest week for two of your highest-opened emails.

Here’s what that looks like for a brand doing 2,000 orders that week (illustrative):

Order confirmations: 2,000 × 57.91% = 1,158 opens

Shipping confirmations: 2,000 × 62.67% = 1,253 opens

Total: 2,411 opens from emails you’re sending anyway

Whatever those templates look like on November 27 is what your newest customers will see, dressed up or bare.

Half an hour of template work now pays off on each order for the rest of the season.

Here’s the run for this week:

1. Open your order confirmation and shipping templates.

2. Add the one human line and the one cross-sell block.

3. Add the one reason-to-return line to the shipping email.

4. Place a test order and read both emails on your phone.

Your ads work hard to win over people who’ve never heard of you.

Your receipt lands in front of people you already won, so give it something worth reading.

I appreciate you reading and as always if there's anything I can do to help you in anyway just respond to this email. I personally respond to every email I get.
